Day 1 Pick up Bagdogra Airport/New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) drive to Gangtok, 125 kms, 5 hours. Transfer to hotel. Primula Primula Lodge/Ritz Residency or similar.
Day 2 Gangtok drive to Lachen, 128 kms, (9000feet) enroute visit seven sister falls. Transfer to hotel.Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Day 3: Early morning drive to Gurudogmar via Chopta Valley, Thangu. 58.7 kms, 2 hours. Gurudogmar is at 17,300 feet. After visiting the lake, return to Lachen, lunch and further drive to Lachung. 54 kms, 2 hours. Lachung is situated in around 8600feet with total tribal culture and is one of the remote area. Scenic beauty while traveling to Lachung is at its best with long cascading water falls. High mountain overlook Lachung Valley.
Day 3 After breakfast visit Yumthang valley where there is a hot spring and the river runs through the middle of the valley. All around snow clad peak surround the valley.Before Yumthang, Singba Rhodendron Sanctuary shelter numerous species of Rhodendron which are in bloom during the spring time. Yumthang valley is covered by snow clad peaks. Further we visit Yumesamdong or locally knows as 0 point. It is located at 15000 feet. Snow is in abundance after the autumn season.
Day 4 Lachung drive to Gangtok.
Day 5 Day trip to Tsongo-Babamandir/Nathula Pass.
Tsongo Lake, Babamandir and Nathula are situated in same circuit in high altitude area. Tsong is at 12400 feet, Babamandir app. At 13000feet and Nathula is at 14600 feet. Tsongo Lake is an alpine lake with lots of rainbow trout though it is a sacred lake of Sikkim. Visitors are not allowed to do boating and entering the lake. Baba mandir is situated much higher with a mandir established and maintained by 17th Mountain Brigade. Baba Harbajan a soldier who perished in a gushing river in 1960 later re surfaced to protect the border of Indo-China. Nathula pass is gateway to Tibet and before Chinese aggression this used to be only a silk route to Lhasa. Nathula to Lhasa is only 470 kms. Trade is being carried out between the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) and Local Sikkimese in the Indian side. Gangtok to Tsongo—Baba Mandir drive is one of the most interesting as it provides an altitudinal changes along with the vegetation changes. During winter the region is full of snow. Nathula is opened for visitors on the following days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,Saturday and Sunday. We do not take advance booking of Nathula due to limited number of permits. Once permit is obtained, extra charge of Rs.200/- will be levied as environmental fee.
Day 6 Gangtok drive to Bagdogra.
